One recent Sunday morning we decided to have breakfast in Treadle Alley while the morning sun warmed the living room. Treadle Alley is the name my hubby gave to the area behind the sofa that is home to a row of treadle sewing machines. The Vesta in the Junior cabinet with the flat top makes a nice little table for two but the plates had to be staggered, each to the right because the top is so small.
The drop head Junior cabinet has a small leaf, shown below to the left. It fits flush into the opening when the head is down. The cabinet has two drawers, one on each side.
A cup and saucer barely fit inside the opening of the arm. The Vesta is a transverse shuttle machine.
The original Vesta guarantee has a London address and is dated 1936. (click to view)
The machine was a gift from a friend. Thank you, Pat S. I adore and take good care of this little beauty.
